Baby Dedication: Camille

The same weekend Miss Camille turned five months old, we had her dedicated at our church, Scottsdale Bible Church.

That pic on the left KILLS ME. Love that daddy-daughter bond!

My dad is one of the elders and they asked him to give a prayer after her blessing – which was very special. On the exact same weekend last year, Kenton was dedicated on the same stage. In my post about that, I explain what a dedication is and why we do it. Check that out here. And here is the dedication Jason read for Camille:

(If it is difficult to read, just click the image to enlarge it.)

This is more about our role as parents and what we commit to do for our children – then it is about our kids. We’ve publicly declared now (twice) how we plan to raise these kids, on a stage in front of thousands – talk about pressure! But we know we’re in the midst of a fabulous community who will not only hold us accountable, but will also help us along the way. We are so grateful.

You may not be able to tell by the photos, but both of our munchkins were very sick on the day of the dedication. They managed to compose themselves long enough for the dedication itself – but we hightailed it out of there afterward. My parents hosted a brunch/open house for Camille – that (thankfully) both kids mostly napped through. I had to ask my friends with young kiddos not to come because we didn’t want to spread the nastiness. But… it was still a lovely gathering and fun to see so many people come to bless our little girl. (Such a bummer I forgot to take pictures until the very end!)

Such a great day and memory for our sweet little family! Thank you to all who came to support us!

 xoxo
